Organizations
and individuals can further support our plans to have the Year
of the Brain in Europe in 2014 by visiting a ‘pledge
your support’ page: www.pledge.yearofthebrain.org/index.php. The
more pledges we can obtain from individuals and
organisations the more we strengthen our attempts
to fundraise and generate political and public
support for the year.
- On May 2012 EBC registered in the Transparency register operated by
the European Parliament and the European Commission. The register
provides policy makers and citizens with a direct and single access to
information about who is engaged in activities aiming at influencing
the EU decision making process, which interests are being pursued and
what level of resources are invested in these
activities.
For more information about the register please go to:

www.ec.europa.eu/transparencyregister/public/consultation/displaylobbyist.do?id=31091478710-90&isListLobbyistView=true - On April 2012 EBC applied for a participatory status with the Council
of Europe.
It is granted to INGOs which are particularly representative
in the field(s) of their competence at European level,
and which through their work are capable of supporting the achievement
of closer unity by contributing to its activities and by publicising its
work among European citizens. At present some 400 INGOs hold the status.
We expect to be granted the participatory status later this year.
