Member OrganisationsThe membership of the EBC consists of professional organisations, patient organisations and industrial partners. According to its constitution, the EBC has as voting members Europe-wide organisations with an interest in the brain (one for each major field). These are the EBC’s ordinary members. Any organisation that supports the aims of the EBC can apply to become an associate member. Associate members have no voting rights but otherwise share the status of ordinary members. Organisations or individuals that have contributed in an outstanding fashion to the aims of the EBC can also become honorary members.
Ordinary Members: professional organisations
Ordinary Members: patient organisations
Ordinary Members: industrial partnersThe pharmaceutical industry in Europe does not have a representative body for brain research and drugs for the brain. The EBC has therefore created a panel of industrial partners from the pharmaceutical and other sectors. Dr Reijo Salonen of Orion Pharma was elected by this panel to represent all of the pharmaceutical industry in Europe as regards brain research and drugs for the brain. Mr Stuart Hurst of Pfizer was elected as his substitute on the EBC board. Similarly, the medical device industry in Europe does not have an organisation that is suited to nominate a representative for the EBC board. Therefore Dr David Neale of Medtronic agreed to represent the device industry in Europe with Dr Christoph Pedain of BrainLab as his substitute. The EBC would also like to acknowledge the generous financial support it receives from its industrial partners. Details of their contributions can be found in the EBC Funding Statement. New industrial partners are always welcome and should contact the EBC Liaison Officer and Administrator, Ms Evelyn Sipido, in the first instance. Her contact details can be found in the Contact Us section of the website.
