National Brain Councils (NBC) & National Action Groups (NAG)
About
Over 20 countries have formed, or are in the process of forming, National Brain Councils and National Action Groups which are independent but aligned with the main goals of the EBC.
Since research funds in the member states far exceed the resources available at European level, the creation of national bodies that can campaign in their respective countries is an important way for the EBC and its member organisations to achieve their goals. Consequently, we have undertaken a project to encourage the formation of such groups in those member states that have not spontaneously created their own NBC or NAGs. We have also developed a guide giving insight into the process of creation of such a national group as well as detailed background information on the initiative.
Below you will find a map and a table showing a detail where NBCs and NAGs were set up so far and what are the plans for the future. The list is shown following the EU Presidencies order.
